Celebrate Valentine's Day all month

Make the Fine Arts Gallery one of your Valentine's Day destinations.

Make February a month of romance by enjoying the planetarium, gallery, theater and music events at Seminole State College of Florida with your loved one.

Planetarium

"Heavenly Love": Valentine’s Day is all about romance, and there’s nothing more romantic than an evening spent gazing at the stars. The Emil Beuhler Perpetual Trust Planetarium at Seminole State College will present a special Valentine's show called "Heavenly Love" at 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13-15.

This original show will explore three mythological love stories and how ancient storytellers used them to explain the night sky. The show will include such diverse stories as:

  • The Korean myth of Altair and Vega, lovers separated by the Heavenly River.
  • The Algonquin legend of the great hunter Algon and his love, the seventh star maiden of the seven sisters (Pleiades).
  • The Greek myth of Orion and Artemis, and how the moon lost its light.

About the Seminole State Planetarium: Live public shows are presented at the planetarium every Friday and Saturday beginning at 8:30 p.m. The planetarium does not take reservations.

Prices are:

  • Adults -- $6
  • Seniors (55+) -- $4
  • Non-Seminole State Students -- $4
  • Preschoolers – Free

The planetarium is free for Seminole State students, faculty and staff with a valid Seminole State ID.
