Seminole State College of Florida has won a series of awards for public relations and marketing projects, including first-place regional and district awards for an interactive recruitment video.
The video project earned a gold award in the College Promotional Video category at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 Medallion Awards. Seminole State also received:
The Medallion Awards honor excellence among marketing and public relations professionals at state and community colleges. This year's winners were announced at the fall district conference in Atlanta Oct. 16-19. Seminole State competed against colleges from 10 Southeastern states.
Staff from the College’s College Relations and Marketing (CRM), Computing and Telecommunications Services (CTS) and Admissions departments collaborated on the video project. The recruitment video, which was filmed and edited by CDB Productions of Orlando, was sent to Seminole County high school seniors using a mailed invitation and a personal Web address. The video also won First Place in the Video/Electronic Promotion category of the Association of Florida Colleges’ (AFC) Communications and Marketing Commission Awards.
At the AFC annual conference in Naples, held Oct. 26-28, the College also won these awards:
