Select student resources to extend hours for Finals Week

Students who need extra study time can take advantage of extended library hours at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus during Finals Week.

Seminole State College of Florida's Library, Assessment and Testing Center and Academic Success Center will offer extended hours in December to help students who may need more time to prepare for Fall Term final exams and projects.

The Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Library will be open two extra hours, until 11 p.m., Dec, 5-8. During this time, library staff will be on hand to provide reference and research assistance. Students will have access to study areas, computer labs, netbooks (for use in the library only), free Wi-Fi, reserve items, copiers and printers. Students also can check out study tools such as calculators, headphones and whiteboard markers and erasers.

Students, staff and faculty may reserve study rooms at the Sanford/Lake Mary Library up to one week in advance. Study rooms provide space for up to 10 people.

The Assessment and Testing centers on the Altamonte Springs and Oviedo campuses, as well as the Testing Center (D-108) on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, also will offer extended hours to serve students and faculty during final exams. The offices will remain open until 8 p.m. Dec. 5-8.

The Academic Success Center (ASC) on each campus will remain open during Finals Week to help students prepare for exams in various subjects. The Sanford/Lake Mary Campus ASC will extend its hours on Dec. 2 and 3. Math, science and writing tutors as well as the computer lab will be available until 5 p.m. on Dec. 2 and until 4 p.m. on Dec. 3. The ASC offers tutoring services for math, English/writing, science, accounting and Spanish. Students also can use study tools and other resources available in the center. Hours will vary by subject and day, so be sure to check the ASC's hours page for the most current schedule.
