Following a nationwide search, Kurt Esser has been named Director of Athletics for Seminole State College of Florida.
Esser joins Raiders Athletics from the University of New Mexico (UNM).
During his nine years with the NCAA Division I Lobos, he oversaw the school’s volleyball, beach volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, men's golf and women's golf, and swimming and diving programs.
He also had oversight of communications including monitoring and administrating UNM's social media strategies.
“I am really excited to be joining the Seminole State Raiders. I think there is a lot of wonderful growth going on all around the college, and I hope athletics can continue to raise the profile of Seminole State! My family and I have been coming to Florida as visitors for a long time, and we look forward to calling it home,” says Esser.
Esser holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Indiana University (1988) and a master's degree in sports administration from the University of Kansas (1995).
