Why Choose Seminole State?

Interior Design … A Signature Program at Seminole State

Beginning in January 2010, Seminole State College will enter a new era with its Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Interior Design, marking Central Florida's first B.A.S. Interior Design program and the College’s first four-year degree.

For more than 30 years, Central Florida students have turned to Seminole State to receive the training they need for a career as a professional interior designer, while design firms and agencies have relied on Seminole State to produce the talent they depend on. And Interior Design studentSeminole State has responded, building an award-winning program that is among the largest in the state of Florida.

Changes in the interior design industry have created an increased demand for a baccalaureate degree in the profession. The new bachelor’s degree will help Central Florida meet this demand. In fact, a survey found that 96 percent of local firms think it is important for the region to have a four-year degree. And 94 percent of Seminole State interior design students expressed interest in obtaining one.

By offering a four-year degree, Seminole State will provide students and the community with a program that is locally accessible and affordable. Flexible classes will be offered to accommodate working professionals.
