This approximately four-hour course introduces the National Incident Management System (NIMS) developed and administered by the Secretary of Homeland Security. It explains the purpose, principles, key components, and benefits of NIMS, which provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and non-governmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. This is a FEMA course and will require completers to take the FEMA online course exam before receiving a FEMA certificate to become a NIMS compliant responder.
