IND2016C Studio III: Introduction to Commercial Design

This course acquaints the student with the complexities of commercial interiors. Emphasis is placed on all aspects of the design process and problem-solving for commercial spaces. The projects encompass life safety and ADA codes, space planning, human factors, non-structural building systems, lighting technologies and the selection of commercial-grade interior finishes and furnishings. Design solutions will be conveyed using computer-generated software such as CAD. Students must complete this course with a grade of ā€œCā€ or higher to advance to the next level studio. Lab fee required.

Prerequisites: IND 2012C, IND 2307C and ETD 1320C. Prerequisite or corequisite, IND 1935, IND 2462
