The purpose of this course is to provide students the opportunity to acquire an understanding of the American political system and political behavior. Basic aspects of the federal government are studied. Emphasis is placed on content and interpretation of the Constitution, Federalism, the Congress, the Presidency and the federal court system as related to current problems in civil liberties, economics and foreign policy.
