Mural Design Contest

Seminole State College of Florida will commission a new large-scale mural on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus (S/LM). The creation of a mural will utilize space on the campus to create an “Instagram-Worthy” mural to attract the attention of the community, as well as bring creativity to the space.

This opportunity will allow faculty, staff, students and community members to enjoy the visual arts and enhance the newly renovated building L courtyard. The project’s aim is to increase the community's participation on the campus and encourage them to view the space as a community area.

Artists will be invited to submit a design proposal for the mural site by Aug. 31, 2020, and the winning design will be selected by a judging committee composed of faculty and staff from Seminole State College. The theme of the mural is Express Your Seminole State Pride. The winning artist will paint the mural, which will be on display for a five-year period. At the end of this period, the College will be able to maintain or remove the mural without further permission from the designer, artist or sponsor(s).

Artistic Brief
