Greater Orlando Start! Heart Walk

Several Seminole State athletes — including the entire Raider baseball team — participated in the American Heart Association's 2010 Greater Orlando Start! Heart Walk at Loch Haven Park in Orlando. Approximately two dozen players helped set up for the event on Oct. 1, and another 14 completed the three-mile walk/run on Oct. 2.

The 2010 Heart Walk raised more than $1 million in support of cardiovascular disease research and awareness. The Seminole State Athletics Department raised $1,150 toward the College's $15,000 goal.

The Central Florida Miracle League

The Central Florida Miracle League uses the game of baseball to help mentally and physically disabled children develop self-esteem and overcome obstacles. Athletes on the Raider baseball team volunteer with this organization throughout the year, working one-on-one with participants and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
