Hall of Fame Class
Seminole State Alumni, Tom Austin, and Head Baseball Coach at Methodist University, Greensboro, NC, added to his long list of accomplishments when the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) included Austin in its 2017 Hall of Fame Class.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Austin attended Seminole Community College, where he was an All-Florida Conference outfielder and set the state junior college stolen base record. While at Seminole, Austin played for former University of Florida and University of Central Florida head coach Jay Bergman. From there, Austin transferred to Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., where he played outfield for the Tars under the late Boyd Coffie and received his bachelor’s degree in history in 1972. He then earned his master’s degree in education from Rollins in 1976.
Former Seminole State sophomore star receives top academic honor

Johnny Bench Award Finalist
Keith Skinner a member of the 2013-2014 Seminole State Baseball team was nominated by the University of North Florida, and named one of 3 finalists for the prestigious Johnny Bench Award, given to the nation's top catcher. The honor is awarded annually by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission presented by BaseballSavings.com.
A final vote among the national committee will occur during the College World Series. All 3 finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced at the 19th Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on June 30, 2016.
Lady Raider earns tour card.
Elia Folch, a member of the Seminole State Women’s Golf team in 2010-11 and 2011-12, is now a member of the Ladies European Tour. She earned her tour card in December 2015 and will be fully exempt for all of 2016.
