Janet Park Balanoff joined Seminole State College in January 2014 after serving at the University of Central Florida for more than 30 years in administrative and leadership roles in areas concerning access, equity and diversity programs.
Balanoff earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Florida State University. Balanoff was involved in developing the early desegregation plans for UF and FSU before moving to the Florida Board of Regents in a monitoring role regarding desegregation plans. Following three years of monitoring responsibilities, Balanoff moved to UCF.
Balanoff previously was the director of equal opportunity and affirmative action at UCF. As associate vice president for Equity and Diversity/Title IX at Seminole State College, Balanoff monitors College compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and nondiscrimination regulations. She also develops plans to increase the visibility of the College’s dedication and commitment to diversity and equity.
