The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT)

The FCAT assesses cognitive reading, writing and mathematics skills. All Florida students in third through tenth grade take the FCAT in the spring of each year. All students entering ninth grade are required to pass the FCAT to earn a high school diploma.

Why is the FCAT important?

You cannot graduate from high school until you pass the FCAT exam, and you are required to pass the FCAT even if your enrollment in high school was not continuous. Additionally, your FCAT scores must accompany your high school transcripts. If they do not accompany your transcripts, you are responsible for providing FCAT scores to Seminole State

If I`ve already taken the FCAT, how do I make sure my scores get to Seminole State?

Your high school should send your FCAT scores with your transcripts; however, it is your responsibility to make sure that Seminole State receives your test scores.

Speak to your high school guidance counselor to make sure that your scores are sent with your transcripts. If not, contact the Assessment and Testing Center for more information.

What do I do if I haven`t taken the FCAT?

If you haven`t taken the FCAT, you can take it at Seminole State. Call 407.708.2153 for more information.
