Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) Exam

The DANTES exam is a nationally recognized credit-by-examination program. With a DANTES exam, students can:

• Prove their competency in various college-level course materials
• Earn college credit without taking a course (if the exam is passed)

DANTES exams were originally designed for military veterans and reservists, but civilians and adult students can now take them as well. Students can take DANTES exams for:

• Business
• Physical science
• Humanities
• Social science
• Applied technology

Where Can I Take a DANTES Exam?

Seminole State is a national DANTES test center. You can take the exam at the Assessment and Testing Center.

How Can I Ensure That Seminole State Receives My DANTES Test Scores?

You are responsible for ensuring that Seminole State has your DANTES records.

• If you are a military veteran, contact the Veteran's Administration (VA).
• Contact the facility at which you took the test(s); they may be able to help you.
• Speak with the Admissions Department; they may be able to tell you who to contact to get your DANTES records.
• The course equivalents and exam scores that meet the Seminole State requirement.
• Contact the Assessment and Testing Center.

Is There a Fee for Taking the CLEP/DANTES Exam?

• The fee for the CLEP/DANTES: $80*
• The Seminole State registration fee is: $15*
