The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT)
Students Required to Test:
PLEASE NOTE:
If you plan on utilizing the testing center on Saturdays or after 6 p.m. on weeknights, testing fees must be paid by credit card, money order or check.
All degree-seeking first-time-in-college students and all college credit certificate-seeking students who wish to register in 12 or more cumulative credits must take the PERT. Such students may not register for any credit course at Seminole State until they have a set of complete scores on file. This includes students who hold only a vocational credit certificate.

Important Reminders for Students
- College developmental courses have a first digit of zero (0). These courses do not count toward a college-credit degree or certificate. These courses do, however, count toward eligibility for VA benefits, financial aid and intercollegiate athletics.
- Rule 6A-10.315 requires students to begin developmental courses during their first 12 hours at Seminole State. Seminole State does not have the authority to make exceptions to this requirement.
- Rule 6A-6A-14.0301 limits students to three attempts to pass each developmental course, including original grades, repeat grades and withdrawals. On the third attempt, students will be assessed the full cost of instruction, will not be permitted to withdraw and will receive a grade for the course. Students may petition to waive the full cost of instruction due to extenuating circumstances or financial hardship by requesting a Petition for Administrative Record Change Form from the Registration and Records counter in Student Services.
