The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
What Is CLEP?
PLEASE NOTE:
If you plan on utilizing the testing center on Saturdays or after 6 p.m. on weeknights, testing fees must be paid by credit card, money order or check.
The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers exams that are administered at colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad.
General Information
- The CLEP exam is a nationally recognized credit-by-examination program.
- By passing a CLEP exam, students can earn college credit for the associated course without having to take the course.
- Applications for CLEP are available in the Assessment and Testing Center on all campuses.
- Only two exams may be administered per day.
- Students cannot receive CLEP credit for a subject if they have already taken the corresponding class and received a grade of "C" or higher.
- Seminole State's counselors and advisors will be happy to assist students in the use of CLEP examinations as it relates to their program of study.

I Have Already Taken the CLEP Exam. How Can I Transfer My Test Scores to Seminole State?
You are responsible for making sure Seminole State has your CLEP scores.
- Contact the facility at which you took the test(s). One of its representatives may be able to help you.
- Speak with a representative in the Assessment and Testing Department. He or she may be able to tell you whom to contact to get your CLEP records.
Is There a Fee to Take the CLEP Exam?
- The fee to take the CLEP exam is: $80*
- The Seminole State registration fee is: $15*
