Is it important for me to see an academic advisor?

Yes, it's very important for all students to see an academic advisor. They provide accurate up-to-date information on Seminole State College programs, services and activities. They can also help you assess your progress towards achieving academic and career goals. Additionally, they can direct you to important resources such as career descriptions, job outlooks, transfer manuals and various community services. The Counseling and Advising Center is located in building A, room 108 and can be reached at 407.708.2337.

Where can I go to get help with a difficult subject?

The Academic Success Center provides academic support and development for all Seminole State College students. Some of the services available in the ASC include:

  • Tutoring in all subjects
  • Counseling
  • Computer-based assistance in reading, writing, math and study skills
  • Walk-in and scheduled appointments are available.

Students needing assistance should contact the Academic Success Center as early in the semester as possible. The ASC is located in building L, room 001 and can be reached at 407.708.2102.

I don't have enough money to take the classes I want. How do I find out about financial aid?

You can contact the Financial Aid Office, located in Building A, Room 104 or call 407.708.2046. Other services such as short-term loans are available and fee waivers are available for eligible students.

Where can I get information about scholarships?

Specific information about scholarships can be obtained from the Admissions Office located in building A, room 105D.  Please contact Eve Hudson at 407.708.2134 or hudsone@seminolestate.edu.

I need a job. Is there someone on campus who can help me get one?

Students interested in on-campus jobs and finding jobs with local businesses (off-campus) should contact the Career Placement Center, located in building C. room 104 and can be reached at 407.708.2033. Also, you should visit the Seminole State Job Opportunities page.

Where do I go if I need to type a report?

Computer Labs are located in Building L, Room 100. You'll find a variety of software programs, including word processing software. A technician is available to show you how to use them to complete your assignments.

Where can I pick up a College catalog?

Catalogs can be picked up in the Admissions Office located in building A, room 105, or call 407.708.2050.

Where do I take the CPT or TABE test?

You will take the computerized Placement Test (CPT) in the Assessment and Testing Center located in Building A, Room 107 or call 407.708.2020. You will also be able to take the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) in the Assessment and Testing Center located in building L, room 010 or call 407.708.2143. Day and evening administration is available for both tests.

Is there an International Student Advisor?

Yes, Angela Adame-Smith is the International Student Advisor. Her office is located in building A, room 105E and she can be contacted at 407.708.2041 or adamss@seminolestate.edu.
