PTA Student Outcomes
Upon completion of the education program, Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) graduates should possess competencies in:
- Patient services: The ability to perform safe and competent interventions, data collection and program modifications on patients delegated to the PTA by the physical therapist and the plan of care.
- Communications: The ability to use verbal and non-verbal methods in sending and receiving communication. Public speaking skills are emphasized through oral presentations and teaching experiences.
- Administration: The ability to participate under the direction and guidance of a licensed physical therapist in selected aspects of planning for physical therapy services in a facility or a community.
- Self-growth: The ability to enhance the contribution of physical therapy to healthcare by improving his/her own knowledge and skills.
