Biography

Dr. John Werner has been teaching in the Physical Sciences Department at Seminole State College since Fall 2003. Previously, he served as a visiting assistant professor and post-doctoral research associate at the University of Illinois. His research interests have included morphometrics (mathematical description of organic form), molluscan evolutionary paleontology, and paleoecology.

At Seminole State, Dr. Werner has taught introductory, physical and historical geology; introductory paleontology; and introductory oceanography.

Dr. Werner is married to a freelance photographer, Melissa Wilder, with whom he shares a love of nature, wildlife, and their canine and feline companions.
