Education

  • Bachelor of Arts in Wildlife Zoology from San Jose State University, 1981
  • Master of Science in Physical Oceanography from the University of Hawaii, 1992

Experience

Diana Wenzel's research applied satellite technology to studying the ocean's temperature and its underlying processes around Hawaii. She worked as a civilian oceanographer for the U.S. Navy in Hawaii for 10 years, analyzing the physical properties of the ocean and its effects on underwater acoustics. Professor Wenzel was also a software designer, programmer and tester for a number of years.

Hobbies

Professor Wenzel enjoys swimming, reading and spending time with her family. She spends most of her evenings taxiing her three teenage daughters around and doing her best to annoy them.
