Biography

Dr. Savrda earned her Associate in Arts degree from Seminole State College before transferring to the University of Central Florida to complete Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physics. While working toward her master's degree, she conducted research into gas- and solid-state laser materials.

After graduating from UCF, Dr. Savrda began her teaching career and soon became interested in the difficulties students encounter while learning physics. The realization prompted her to pursue a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Physics Education Research.

Dr. Savrda returned to Seminole State as a faculty member in 2003.

When not working with students, she enjoys hiking, camping, downhill skiing, martial arts, needlework and growing orchids.
