Degrees and Curriculum

Seminole State College's Oviedo Campus offers a full curriculum of academic courses in university pre-majors, all taught in small, intimate classroom settings by the College's award-winning faculty. Those students who speak English as a second language will benefit from the Campus' comprehensive Adult Education Program as well, where they can take college-credit courses that will give them the language skills to better participate in more advanced college and university classes.

Some of our college-level courses for students who speak English as a second language include:

• English for Academic Purposes (EAP): College-level courses in reading, writing and communication skills for adults who speak English as a second language to succeed in a college and/or university setting.
• English Language Studies (ELS): ELS prepares adult speakers of other languages to communicate effectively in English through comprehensive language instruction and college preparation programs.

Other offerings include:

• Adult Basic Education (ABE)/General Equivalency Diploma (GED): These courses prepare students for their GED.
