Florida League for Nursing

Florida League for Nursing (FLN)

To qualify for a Florida League for Nursing (FLN) scholarship, you must have:

  • Current membership in FLN (Please send copy of card).
  • Florida residency at least one year.
  • Matriculated into a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited BS in nursing, a RN to BSN, Masters, or a doctoral program in nursing (include acceptance letter).
  • Completed a minimum of 6 semester credits in the approved program with grades of "B" or better and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above (include transcript).
  • Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be written by a current nursing instructor or major advisor, which describe the contributions of the applicant to nursing practice and the nursing profession.
  • An essay which describes
    • Your contribution to nursing practice and the nursing profession
    • How advanced education will contribute to further personal professional growth.

Criteria

Three criteria are used by the FLN Committee on Scholarship and Awards to select candidates:

  • Scholarship.
  • Potential for contribution to the nursing profession.
  • Financial need.

Application Deadline

TBA. Only completed applications will be reviewed. Funds will be awarded and names of recipients will be announced at the annual FLN convention. FLN scholarships are competitive.
