Criteria
Candidate must:
- Be of African-American heritage and/or a minority
- Be a resident of Brevard, Lake Orange, Osceola, Polk or Seminole County
- Currently be enrolled full-time in an accredited nursing program (L.P.N., A.D., B.S.N., M.S.N., Ph.D. and D.N.P.)
- Be in good scholastic standing at the time of application, maintaining a cumulative GPA 2.5 or above
- Have a significant financial need
- Show participation and/or involvement in community activities
- Be a member of the CFBNA at the time application is submitted (ask for details)
Scholarship Amount
Requirements
Applicant must provide the following:
- An official transcript from an accredited school
- Scholarship Application
- Two letters of recommendation from a supervisor at work, professor, minister, or community leader
- Evidence of participation or involvement in community service
- Essay on professional expectations, long term and short term goals
- Please mail application and all supporting documentations together in No. 8 (8 1/2 x 11) brown envelope
Nomination Process
- Applicant must provide above list by the deadline
- Applicant must make a personal appearance at the CFBNA meeting in August for an interview
- Recipient must be present at the CFBNA Scholarship Luncheon
