 V.C., Articulated Nursing Assistant (Patient Care Technician - Nurse Aide/Orderly) CertificateCertificate Type: VC This program prepares students for the State of Florida certification exam and for employment as nursing assistants in nursing homes, health agencies and private homes. The program is designed to provide classroom, nursing laboratory and clinical experiences for selected tasks related to personal hygiene, comfort and safety measures for residents in long-term care facilities. All laboratory practice and resident care is performed under the direct supervision of a registered nurse instructor. All students entering a healthcare program with a clinical component will be required to complete a criminal background check. Students must be free of offenses which could potentially disqualify them from working in a healthcare environment (Florida Statute 400.211). Admission into clinicals is at the discretion of the clinical agencies. Students must complete the TABE test (no minimum score requirement). Total program hours: 165
