What are the Nursing Assistant Admission Requirements?

All students entering a healthcare program with a clinical component will be required to complete a criminal background check. Students must be free of offenses that could potentially disqualify them from working in a healthcare environment (Florida Statute 400.211). Admission into clinicals is at the discretion of the clinical agencies.

Students must also:

  • Be at least 17 years old.
  • Complete the Seminole State application process.
  • Take Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE; no minimum score required).
  • Meet with an academic adviser/counselor.

What Are the Home Health Aide Admission Requirements?

 Students must:

  • Complete the Nursing Assistant Program.
  • Submit proof of a Florida Nursing Assistant Certification to the Seminole State Records Department.
  • Be currently CPR Heart-Saver certified.

How Can I Get Additional Information?

It is recommended that students visit an academic adviser or educational planner for guidance in course selection, sequencing and scheduling. Financial assistance and scholarship opportunities are available.
