Career Transition into Professional Nursing

Nurses are more than doctors' assistants. They're caregivers. They tend to and nurture patient needs. They care for their patients and comfort friends and family. They teach and help others maintain their health. They are a vital part of the healing process.

In Central Florida, across the United States, and throughout the world, there is a critical shortage of nurses. Seminole State's Career transition into Professional Nursing program:

  • Is a comprehensive, one-year limited access program
  • Provides classroom and clinical experiences in all areas of nursing
  • Teaches the specialized skills you need to become a successful nurse
  • Helps you transition from a Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Respiratory Therapist, or Certified Paramedic to an RN (Registered Nurse)

When you have transitioned from a nursing certificate to a nursing degree, you can:

  • Continue your education at a four-year college or university
  • Work towards earning a bachelor's degree and/or select a nursing specialization
  • Begin work as an Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) immediately after graduation

How do I earn the Associate Degree in Nursing?

To earn the degree, you must:

  • Complete the curriculum

To be employed as a Registered Nurse you must:

  • Pass the NCLEX - RN exam
