Patient Care Assistant Admission/Cost

Requirements

All students entering a healthcare program with a clinical component will be required to complete a criminal background check. Students must be free of offenses that could potentially disqualify them from working in a healthcare environment (Florida Statute 400.211). Admission into clinicals is at the discretion of the clinical agencies.

Students must also:

  • Be at least 17 years old.
  • Apply to Seminole State for admission.
  • Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE; no minimum score required).
  • Provide proof of a negative TB skin test or chest X-Ray (if required).

Entry Dates

  • Check current class schedule. 
  • Courses are offered only in the Fall and Spring Terms (day and/or evening).

Program Cost

All fees are approximate and subject to change without notice.

  • Tuition for All Three Courses: $900 (in-state students only)
  • Lab Fees for All Three Courses: $100
  • Textbook: $210 (required)
  • State Certification Exam: Visit the Prometric website for current fees.

Students must also purchase a TB skin test, uniforms, shoes, a name tag and a water-resistant watch with a second hand.
