‘What’s happening’ guide for March and April

Our helpful 'What's Happening' guide will assist you in planning for March and April.

Spring is in the air and Seminole State is budding with activity. Now’s your chance to get in on the action with fun clubs, sports, workshops and much more! Our helpful guide will assist you in planning for March and April.

New Student Services!

To better serve our students, the Student Services building on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus was recently given a makeover. The department will now offer an enhanced model where all student services will be handled in one convenient location. Take a tour of the newly redesigned building during our open house on March 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served from 10-11:30 a.m. and from 1:30-3 p.m. For more information, visit the Student Affairs Redesign page.

Get Involved

Student Life is holding many informative and fun events this term. On Tuesday, March 12, find affordable house at the Housing Fair on the Altamonte Springs Campus. On Tuesday, March 26, enjoy stilt walkers, funnel cakes, and other circus fun at the Big Top Carnivals held on both the Altamonte Springs and Sanford/Lake Mary campuses. For more events, check out Student Life’s calendar.

Get moving with the many intramural sports offered to Seminole State students. Sign up now to join the kickball and softball leagues. The deadline is March 13. You can also enjoy volleyball, table tennis, tennis and ultimate disc during open hours and practice play. Check the Intramurals Sports calendar for times and locations.

Fine Arts

From art exhibits to theatrical performances, the Fine Arts department has a lot going on this March and April. Don’t miss the theatre’s production of Eurydice, opening April 5. The play retells the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of his wife Eurydice. Later in April, see the creative and captivating dance showcase aptly titled, ‘Spring into Dance.’ Also be sure to stop by one of the many concerts offered throughout the spring, as listed on the Music Events page. And don’t miss the 44th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit, opening April 11.

Student Workshops

Improve your academic performance and sharpen your life skills at the many FREE workshops hosted by Student Affairs. On Monday, March 25, learn how to relieve test-taking anxiety and improve your grades. Or if you’re you still trying to decide what major to pursue, find a career that best suits your personality and interests at the workshop on April 1.

Student Life’s daylong Leadership Institute Retreats are also a great way to boost your confidence, improve your time management skills and meet new friends, and the Career Development Center offers resume reviews and online seminars.
