On Feb. 15, high school seniors will learn about all the programs and scholarships available at Seminole State College.
Seminole State College will welcome more than 1,000 high school seniors on Friday, Feb. 15, for Decision Day, a free event for Seminole County high school students who have expressed an interest in attending Seminole State.
Students from all of Seminole County's public high schools will converge on Seminole State’s Sanford/Lake Mary Campus between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
“Decision Day is an opportunity for the students to learn about the differences between high school and college in terms of schedules and credit hours,” says Pamela Mennechey, associate vice president, Recruitment and Enrollment. “It’s also a great opportunity to learn about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and about all the different scholarships we have to offer.”
In addition to those presentations, the day’s activities will include:
- A college fair with faculty representing all the degree areas, as well as representatives from the College’s Financial Aid, Student Life and Athletics programs.
- Campus tours.
- Prize giveaways, a D.J. and a pizza party.
Please note that the following parking areas will be closed:
- Parking lot off Loop Road
- Part of parking lot #1 between building H and the Partnership Center
- The first two rows of staff parking in the faculty/staff/visitor lot near the Partnership Center
Students should register for this event by Feb. 5. Students also should turn in their permission slips to their guidance counselors. |
