Networking Technologies

Track Descriptions

The Network Service Technology degree offers three technical specialization tracks in addition to the core classes. Students pursuing this degree take certain core courses, as well as courses specific to their track.

Network Operating Systems (Windows)

This specialization provides the necessary coursework to enable the graduate to set up and maintain network operating systems including Windows XP, Windows Server and Unix (Linux). Emphasis will be placed on planning, implementing and maintaining and Windows Server 2003 Active Directory.

Cisco Network Infrastructure

This specialization provides the necessary coursework to enable the graduate to set up and design internetworking technologies. Emphasis will be placed on internetworking design, router and switch installation, configuration and management. These courses will help prepare students to take the CISCO CCNA and CCNP certification exams.

Virtualization

The specialization covers infrastructure, server implementation and information storage management. After completing the track, students will be prepared to sit for the VCP certification from VMware, as well as other relevant credentials.
