Account Creation

Why do I have to create an account?

All students are required to create a login name and password during their first visit to MySeminoleState, so they can access their student records while attending classes at Seminole State.

How do I create a MySeminoleState student account?

  1. Visit my.seminolestate.edu.
  2. Click "Create New Student Account"on the MySeminoleState login page.
  3. Enter your Social Security number without hyphens. If you do not have a Social Security number, contact the International Student Office or call 407.708.2050 to obtain the information you need to create your student account.
  4. Enter your date of birth, including both digits of the month and day and four digits for the year (MM/DD/YYYY).
  5. Using CAPITAL letters, create a login name of your choice between five and eight characters in length (letters and numbers only; no spaces or punctuation). Your login name is your universal access ID to all Seminole State computer resources. Example: JOHNDOE1, 123JANE
  6. Create a password of your choice using a minimum of four characters. MySeminoleState passwords are case sensitive.
  7. Confirm your password by re-entering it in the field provided.
  8. Enter your preferred e-mail address.
  9. Confirm your e-mail address by re-entering it in the field provided.
  10. For authentication purposes, you will be asked to answer a security question when resetting your password electronically. Use the dropdown arrow to select the question you would like to be asked for security purposes.
  11. Provide the response to the question you selected.
  12. Click the "Save" button.
  13. Confirm your login name, password and e-mail by selecting "OK."
  14. Your MySeminoleState account has been activated. Click "Logout" and use your new login name and password to access MySeminoleState.

What if I don't have a Social Security number?

Students who do not have a Social Security number should contact the International Student Office at the Seminole State Admissions Department or call 407.708.2050 to obtain the appropriate information to create their account.

What is a login name?

Your login name is your universal access ID to all Seminole State computer resources. In addition to accessing MySeminoleState, your login name will be used to create your MyMail (student e-mail) account and provide you access to the College's network system. Therefore, you are encouraged to use good judgment when choosing your login name.

Your login name must consist of at least five, and no more than eight, capital characters (CAPITAL letters and numbers only; no spaces or punctuation). Examples: JAMES24, DIAZM, etc.

What is a password?

Your password is the second half of the login validation process. It is case sensitive and must include at least five characters.

Why am I required to select a question and provide a response when creating a MySeminoleState account?

If you forget your password, you can reset it electronically. The question and response you provided while creating your account will be used to authenticate your identity when resetting your password.

How do I change my password?

  1. Login to MySeminoleState.
  2. Click "Change My Password" on the left menu.
  3. Click "Change Password."
  4. Enter your current password and then choose a new password.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

If you forget your MySeminoleState password, you can reset it electronically by following the instructions below:

  1. Go to the MySeminoleState website.
  2. Click "Forgot Your Login Name or Password."
  3. Enter your login name or Social Security number and your date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY).
  4. Select "Continue."
  5. Answer your security question for user authentication.
  6. Click "Submit Request."
  7. Your password has been reset using the first initial of your first name (upper case), the first initial of your last name (upper case), and the six digits of your birth date (YYMMDD).
    Example: If your name is John Doe and you were born on March 1, 1977, your password would be "JD770301."
  8. Click "Ok."
  9. Login to MySeminoleState with your new password.
  10. Change your password to something only you will know.

What is a Seminole State ID number?

This seven-digit number uniquely identifies you in the College's student records system. Upon your admission to the College, you will be assigned a Seminole State ID number which, for your personal security, will be used for identification purposes throughout your career at Seminole State in place of your Social Security number.

Once you are logged in, you can find your Seminole State ID number in the "Welcome" bar at the top of MySeminoleState. You can also locate itby clicking the "Demographic Data" link under "Personal Information."

How do I access FLVC.org (Florida Virtual Campus)?

To access FLVC.org, log into the system with your student ID (same as your Seminole State ID number) and your PIN. Your default FLVC PIN is the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have a Social Security number, your default PIN is the last four digits of your Seminole State ID number, which can be found by logging into MySeminoleState. (Your Seminole State ID number is located in the "Welcome" bar at the top of the page.)

How do I change my FLVC PIN?

To change your FLVC PIN, log into MySeminoleState, and select the "Personal Identification" link from the "Personal Information" menu. Follow the directions listed on the page.
