Farmworker Jobs and Education Program

The Department of Education's Farmworker Jobs and Education Program is designed to serve individuals who are migrant or seasonal farmworkers, including plant nursery laborers, and their dependents. Assistance includes career counseling, employability skills and need-based payment while providing education, job training and employment assistance.

The Program's ultimate goal is to enable participants to develop the required skills to acquire and maintain gainful employment. Students may enroll in ABE, GED, ELS, adult high school and applied technologies programs. Participation in these programs will lead to eventual placement in year-round, unsubsidized non-agricultural or upgraded agricultural employment.
