Tommy Minton
Tommy Minton grew up in Winter Springs and is a graduate of Oviedo High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University and a Master of Science degree in Statistics from Florida State University. After leaving FSU in 1997, Tommy embarked on a career of teaching college-level mathematics, mostly at the community college level. He had a brief interlude as a professional golfer on local mini-tours (one victory, some second-places). Tommy returned "home" as a newlywed (his wife is a graduate of Oviedo High School and the University of Central Florida) in 2005 and began teaching at Seminole State as an adjunct professor. He moved up to full-time status in August 2006. He teaches solely at the Oviedo Campus. Outside of work Tommy enjoys playing golf, tabletop gaming and watching Clemson, FSU and UCF athletic events. He has two young children (boys, one born in April 2007 and the other in September 2009), three cats and two chihuahuas. |
