Diana Boyette
Diana Boyette received her undergraduate degree from Buffalo State College in criminal justice and worked for a number of years as a juvenile probation officer. Deciding that her early career choice had not been my true calling, she did a post-baccalaureate mathematics core at the University of Central Florida. She started teaching middle school and kept learning. Boyette went on to teach high school and took further math classes. She says she found out along the way that not only was she really good at math but loved it as well. She received her master’s degree in statistics from UCF in 2000 and began teaching at the collegiate level. She says teaching a challenging academic subject in the community college environment is where she was meant to be because it combines the counseling and empathy learned from her early career with the pure love of mathematics. She enjoys helping young people who are just starting on their academic journey, to people making career changes later in life. Born and raised in Upstate New York, she considers herself a “born again” Floridian. She loves gardening in the summer in the middle of the day, the warmer the better. She and her husband have two great kids, and they love to do things as a family: camping, biking and traveling. |
