Barbara Lott received her associate degree in liberal studies and bachelor's degree in mathematics from Kentucky State University. She earned her master's degree in education from the University of Kentucky and will continue her education at the University of Central Florida.

Lott has been teaching mathematics since 1993 and came to Seminole State in 2003. Prior to joining the faculty, she taught at a community college in Kentucky. Lott believes that an understanding of mathematics enhances problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Certified by the Kellogg Institute as a Developmental Education Specialist, Lott is convinced that with dedication and effort all students can learn.
