The virtual library provides resources and services that are also available on campus.
Students will find an understanding of plagiarism and copyright basics to be a critical aspect of academic life, and students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with plagiarism and copyright rules and regulations. Visit the library's copyright page to learn more about copyright, intellectual property rights and how to avoid plagiarism.
Information literacy is one of the five Student Learning Outcomes identified by the College that are necessary to master before graduation. Information Literacy is a critical thinking skill that is important to use now and in the future in daily life, and as a lifelong learner. Once the principles are understood, it becomes second nature to consider all information you are presented with critically. It helps you with college research and in making educated decisions in daily activities: what car to buy, how you choose to vote, or whether information you are presented with is accurate and viable.
The library's Information Literacy Web page provides online tutorials, media clips and general infomation that helps give you a better understanding of the principles that reinforced throughout your college experience.
The library's online catalog is your access point to books, ebooks, media and much more. Our article databases allow you to access millions of newspaper, magazine and academic journal articles online.
In addition to providing general library and research assistance, the Seminole State Library offers special support services for the following types of students:
Please do not hesitate to ask the librarians and library staff for assistance. We are here to help, and we look forward to working with you during your time at Seminole State College.
