Reserve Materials

When professors place materials on reserve, they are kept at the circulation desk and are listed in the online catalog as "reserves." To use the materials, bring your student ID to the circulation desk and request the items. Members of our staff can tell you how long you may use the items and whether or not they may be taken from the library.

Placing Materials on Reserve

Seminole State faculty members may place materials on reserve for exclusive use by their students by contacting the circulation staff at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus or the circulation/reference desk at the Oviedo, Altamonte or Heathrow campuses. Faculty members may stipulate a timeframe for material use and whether materials may be removed from the facility.

Materials may be placed on reserve for brief periods, an entire term or longer, depending upon the needs of the program or course. Library specialists will contact faculty members if their reserve materials go primarily unused, to determine whether materials should be pulled from the shelves or used for another course.
