Journals at the Library

Journals are available and/or accessible at the Library in print format, microfilm/microfiche or digitized for e-mail attachment, and via online database subscriptions. Internet access and your library card number/PIN provide you with "24/7" access to online databases.

The Seminole State Library does not use call numbers for journals; they are shelved alphabetically by title.

New journal subscriptions begin in January.

New database subscriptions begin in January.

Cancellations of subscriptions normally take effect in December.

Changes in databases or ends to subscriptions can occur at the discretion of the vendor or publisher. This impacts how we deliver service, and may impact access. We constantly update our instructional materials. If you wish to photocopy and distribute library materials that describe access to databases to your classes, please let us know at least a week in advance. We will check to be sure that you provide the most current information to your students.

Give requests for journal/database subscriptions to your library liaison.

If you want your students to consult a particular issue of a journal, please consider placing it on reserve to minimize loss and maximize access.
