Online Instruction and Embedded Librarians

The library offers many services to meet the needs of distance learning students and instructors. Below is a list of real-time services that the library offers for online library instruction and for embedded librarians in Sakai courses. Classes can be scheduled around regularly scheduled online course meetings or other convenient times. Content of library instruction can be tailored to your class' specific research needs.

Embedded Librarians

An embedded librarian can be added to a Sakai course to assist with the research needs of your students throughout the semester. The level of participation by the librarian can be tailored to individual courses. Librarians can offer the following services as an embedded librarian:

• Discussion forum to post research tips and address questions
• Assistance with locating and recommending quality resources
• Scheduled virtual office hours through Sakai chat
• Consultations with students in Sakai, on the phone or in-person
• Course-specific tutorials and guides
• Collaboration with faculty assignment preparation
