Materials on Reserve

Finding Materials on Reserve

When professors place materials on reserve, the materials are kept at the library's Information Services Desk. Reserved items are listed in the online catalog as "reserves."  Library staff will let you know how long they may be used, and whether or not they may be taken from the library. You will be asked to present your college photo ID before using reserve materials.

Placing materials on reserve:

Faculty may place materials on reserve for exclusive use by their students by contacting the Circulation Department at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, or the Information Services Desk at the Oviedo, Altamonte Springs and Heathrow campuses. Faculty may stipulate length of use and whether materials may be taken outside the facility.

Materials may be placed on reserve for days or weeks, for an entire semester, or longer, depending upon the needs of the program or course. Library Specialists will contact faculty if they see that reserve materials are unused to determine whether materials should be pulled from the shelves or used for another course.
