Using Your Library Card to Borrow MaterialsHow can I use my college ID card as a library card?A Seminole State ID card activated for library use is required to borrow materials from the Seminole State Library. Current students, faculty and staff can activate their ID card for library use in person at the Library Circulation Desk on any Seminole State campus. Distance Learning students may request a library account via e-mail. Retired faculty and staff can obtain a Seminole State library card at the Library Circulation Desk on any Seminole State campus. A valid photo ID is required. What is my Borrower Identification Number and PIN?The number on your college ID card serves as your Borrower Identification Number. You can use your Borrower Identification Number to check out books, reserve materials and search LINCCWeb online databases. Your PIN is the last four digits of your Social Security number. What is inter-campus borrowing?Seminole State's collection materials are available to students, faculty and staff on any campus. With inter-campus borrowing, you can request materials online from another campus's collection and return them to any library location. Seminole State's courier service transfers the materials between libraries. What is reciprocal borrowing?Reciprocal borrowing allows you to borrow library materials from any Florida state-funded college or university. You must show your Seminole State ID card (for retired faculty and staff, a photo ID and Seminole State library card) to check out materials from other schools' libraries. Likewise, students from other Florida colleges and universities may check out materials from the Seminole State Library by presenting a valid college ID from their respective school.
