The library will support teaching, learning and research, and remain committed to developing an information-literate community in which students can identify, access, evaluate, use and understand information. The library is committed to providing excellent service, utilizing new technologies and maintaining an environment of open inquiry and intellectual freedom.

The mission of the Seminole State College library is to be an active and collaborative partner in the educational process by:

  • Instructing students in the information literacy principles of how to locate, evaluate and ethically use information from a variety of sources
  • Providing the appropriate academic support for faculty, students and staff through our collections, partnerships and services
  • Interacting with and engaging users in the research process
