PLA 2114 Legal Research & Writing IIThis course, offered exclusively during the Fall Term, is a continuation of Legal Research and Writing I (PLA 1104). If a student has already completed Legal Research and Writing I, it is essential that he or she register for Legal Research and Writing II this fall. Otherwise, he or she will delay graduation from the Legal Studies Program for an entire year. In Legal Research and Writing II, students will apply the legal research skills acquired in Legal Research and Writing I. They will learn to write, or "draft," a variety of legal documents, including but not limited to: contracts; internal memoranda; client opinion letters; memoranda of law; and an appellate brief. Day and evening sections of Legal Research and Writing II are available for the Fall 2009 Term. The day section will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:45 a.m., and the evening section will be held on Mondays from 6-8:45 p.m. Both sections are scheduled on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. In terms of demand, this course can be classified as high, or very demanding, of students' time and attention. Legal Research and Writing I is the only prerequisite. |
