Organizing or Joining a Team

Intramural sports are open to all currently enrolled Seminole State students, as well as faculty and staff.

Choosing a Sport

Seminole State offers several intramural sports programs on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. Details about each program are available on the Leagues and Tournaments Web page.

Signing Up

Ideally, participants will organize their own teams and select a captain to represent them. Those who do not have enough players to form a team should visit Intramural Sports on Facebook to connect with other students who cannot form a team.  A week before registration is closed, a free agent list will be posted in the gym for students to sign up to be picked up by an already made team or to form a team amongst the available free agents. The Intramural Sports coordinators will not assign free agent teams as of Spring Term 2012.

After organizing or joining a team, participants must complete the following documents during the posted registration period:

  • Signed liability waiver (one per individual)
  • Team registration form (one per team)

The liability waiver can be printed from the Forms and Documents Web page. A hard copy of this form must be turned in to the Intramural Sports Office in H-102. Team registration forms can be completed online. Rules and regulations for each sport also are available on the Forms and Documents page.

Registration periods for each sport will be posted on the Leagues and Tournaments Web page as well as the Intramural Sports Facebook page.

After completing the required paper work, teams will choose a preferred day and time to play from a list of options. Players will compete during this time slot each week for the duration of the season (pending availability).

Game schedules will be posted on the Leagues and Tournaments Web page as well as emailed to the email address given on the registration form. Any changes to the schedules will be emailed to the team captains and posted online.

Remember: This is intramural sports, not college athletics. Please read the rules before you play to ensure your safety as well as the safety of other participants.
