Seminole State Travel Study Programs
The following Travel Study programs are led by Seminole State College faculty in collaboration with EF Educational Tours and Casterbridge Tours.

All trips are accompanied by an optional three-credit course.

Previous Travel Study Programs
British Health Care System Tour of London: March 1-7, 2013
Partipants traveled to London to study and observe the English health care system, visiting the Florence Nightingale Museum and participating in a health care seminar. Tour stops included the Elizabeth Tower (formerly Big Ben), the House of Commons, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park, the Tower of London, Windsor Castle and the British Museum.

Exploring Financial Markets in London and Paris: March 1-9, 2013
This excursion took travelers to London and Paris, where they learned the basic workings of English and French money markets. Highlights included stops at cultural landmarks and museums in each city, as well as visits to the British Broadcasting Corporation, the London and French stock exchanges, and more.

Irish Heritage: May 15-24, 2012
Students, faculty and community members took a once-in-a-lifetime tour around Ireland, learning about art, history, heritage and culture along the way. They made stops in Killarney, Kinsale, Cork and Dublin, stopping along the way to see Trinity College, Blarney Castle and the legendary Blarney Stone, and St. Patrick's Cathedral.

London and Paris: June 11-20, 2012
Participants traveled around London and Paris and visited some of Europe's most iconic and culturally significant sites, including the Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, the Elizabeth Tower and Windsor Tower in London, and the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. |

Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam: May 18-28, 2011
Students, faculty, staff and community members traveled to Bangkok, Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City as part of this unforgettable excursion through Southeast Asia. Participants visited palaces, temples, terraces and many other attractions. They also toured the War Remnants Museum and the elaborate tunnel system used to hide Viet Cong soldiers during the Vietnam War.

Eastern Europe: May 10-20, 2011
Travel Study participants explored the rich and often turbulent history of Eastern Europe with stops in Austria, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. Highlights included palaces, castles, monuments and salt mines, as well as a former communist district and a concentration camp.

Spain, Land of Many Cultures: March 3-13, 2011
Students, faculty, staff and community members traveled to Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Barcelona during the College's 2011 Spring Break. Participants visited royal palaces, cathedrals, museums, bullrings and many other attractions. They also had the opportunity to visit Bilbao and San Sebastian as part of an optional three-day extension package.

Italy and Greece: May 19-28, 2010
In Italy, travel Study participants took in the sites of Rome, Vatican City and Pompeii, before journeying to the historic Greek cities of Athens, Epidaurus, Mycenae and Delphi. Highlights included the Roman Coliseum, St. Peter's Basilica, the Pantheon, Mount Vesuvius and an optional three-day cruise extension package through the Greek Isles.

India's Golden Triangle: March 6-14, 2010
Students, faculty and community members journeyed to Delhi, Alsisar, Agra and Jaipur over the College's 2010 Spring Break. Participants visited the Taj Mahal, palaces, mosques, tombs, national parks and several other attractions. They also experienced an authentic Indian elephant ride.

Travel Study participants visited Tokyo, Hiroshima and Osaka in May 2009. Highlights included visiting Buddhist temples, castles, shrines and national parks, and riding Japan's famous bullet trains.

Seminole State students and faculty members traveled to London, Windsor, Oxford, Stratford, York and Edinburgh. Highlights included Windsor Castle, Shakespeare's birthplace, a theater and Piccadilly Circus.

Travel Study participants journeyed to San Jose, Sarapiqui, Monteverde and Central Pacific Coast in May 2008. Highlights included rainforest, volcano and hot springs visits, as well as a canopy tour and whitewater rafting.

Seminole State students, faculty and community members traveled to Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. Highlights included the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and the Forbidden City.

Each year, a group of Honors Institute students is selected to attend the Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria. The seminar, taught by international professors, focuses on globalization and what it means to be a global citizen. The tour includes a visit to Dachau Concentration Camp, Mozart's birthplace and Munich.
