A.S. Degree, Interior Design Technology

For more than 30 years, Seminole State's Interior Design Program has been a leader in Florida. It was the first community college program in the state to become regionally and professionally accredited and is one of the largest programs in the state.

As the practice of interior design continues to expand, becoming ever more complex and technical, it is increasingly important for designers to have a solid educational base with a pathway to licensure. Having obtained skills critical to the industry, graduates of this program will be able to work in a wide variety of design occupations.

  • Program Plan: Upon completion of Seminole State's A.S. Interior Design Technology degree and four years of work experience, graduates are eligible to take the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications examination for state licensure. The A.S. in Interior Design Technology gives students the foundation they need for Seminole State's new four-year degree program.
  • Course Sequence: The two-year program grounds students in the fundamentals of interior design, including materials and resources, commercial and residential design concepts, barrier-free and sustainable design, and computer-aided design (CAD). A co-op internship is also part of the program.
