Bachelor of Applied Science, Interior Design

Seminole State College’s Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Interior Design is the only four-year public program in Central Florida. The art-based curriculum combines design concepts and social-science philosophies with the technical skills that are required of the profession.

Once you complete the degree and two years of work experience under a licensed interior designer or architect, you will be eligible to take the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) exam for state licensure.

The Program

Seminole State College’s Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in Interior Design, approved by the state Board of Architecture and Interior Design, is the only four-year public program in Central Florida. How to Apply

  • A.S. Interior Design graduates: If you've earned your Associate in Science degree in Interior Design from Seminole State or another Florida College System institution, you're on your way. Simply apply online to Seminole State by the deadlines in the College's academic calendar.
  • Students with an A.A., A.S. or bachelor’s degree in another field: Students who have completed an unrelated degree program will be considered but may need additional coursework. To be considered, apply to Seminole State online by the stated deadlines.
  • First-time college students: Apply online to Seminole State and declare the A.S. in Interior Design as your educational goal. Once you've earned an A.S. in Interior Design, you can apply directly to the bachelor’s degree program.
