Online Training Courses: Dell Learning Systems (DLS)

More than 400 online learning modules are available to employees through the Dell Learning System. Topics are arranged in three subject areas:

  • Business (Leadership, Managing Change, Presentation Skills, Time Management, etc.)
  • Desktop (Outlook, Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat 9, etc.)
  • IT & Certification (A+, Windows Server, Cisco, CompTIA, JavaScript, SQL, Web Development, etc.)

View the DLS Quick Start Guide to learn how to log in to the DLS.

How do I get professional development credit?

To receive professional development credit, you must submit a request for credit through the TIM system after completing the educational event. To request credit: Access the TIM system, and under Human Resources, select "Request Professional Development Credit."

For credit courses, select "Credit Course" and enter the credits earned per term (usually 3). The system will automatically multiply the course hours by 30 hours. For example, if you take a college course for 3 credit hours, the system will award you 90 professional development credit hours.

For seminar/workshop and Dell Learning System programs, enter the actual number of hours that you participated in the program. For example, if you attended a one-hour Lunch and Learn program, click "Seminar/Workshop" and enter 1 hour. Or, if it took you four hours to complete the Dell online Excel course, click "Dell Learning System" and enter 4 hours.
