Career Service, Technical, Staff/Office Support Committee Planning Guide - Search committees are strongly encouraged, but not required for career service positions in grades W01 through W09.
- Hiring managers are strongly encouraged to appoint
- a 3-member search committee when recruiting for career service positions in grades W10 through W16
- 3-5 members for positions in grades W17 through W28
- The committee chair may vote.
- Each committee
- should be balanced according to race and gender
- should include a representative from the EA/EO committee.
- All members of the search committee will screen applications and will participate in all interviews.
- Hiring managers are strongly encouraged to appoint
- a 3 member search committee when recruiting for technical positions in grades T10 through T20
- 3-5 members for positions in grades T30 through T40
- 5-7 members for positions in grades T50 and above.
- Search Committees are encouraged but not required for part-time positions.
Note: List the name of the committee chair and the name of each committee member on Approval of Search Committee - HR-200 and indicate all applicable areas represented by each member. The committee should be diverse in its makeup and representative of the college population. Obtain approvals before submitting to HR.
